To restore and improve the appearance of this front porch, I replaced the deteriorated finger-jointed risers, post sleeves, and skirts with PVC trim boards; replaced the rotting mahogany decking with Fiberon Paramount sandstone PVC decking; scraped, sanded, primed, and painted all surfaces, and replaced the post caps. I extended the steps so the posts sit identically on the decking and treads.
