Simpson Bungalow doors

Late last fall I helped my client order two sets of prehung Simpson 7228 Bungalow French doors through John Garth at Tedford Lumber in Ipswich. The house was built about a dozen years ago with very similar doors that were made of untreated pine and had serious rot. We stored the new doors for the winter, then painted and installed them in the spring. The doors are very solid and quite heavy, so it took two men to do each installation.

These Simpson performance doors are constructed of fir, and the exterior has a thin Medium Density Overlay Water Barrier that provides excellent durability and resists moisture absorption. Composite jambs, UltraBlock and and Weather Seal technology and a water-resistant composite block in the bottom of the door stiles assure their longevity.
